‘Leishmania infection-induced multinucleated giant cell formation via upregulation of ATP6V0D2 expression’

寄生虫性疾患である内臓型リーシュマニア症の患者では、骨髄やリンパ節のマクロファージが多核化して、自己の赤血球を貪食する現象が見られます。今回、原虫感染誘導性の多核化にV-ATPaseの構成成分として知られるATP6V0D2が関与することを明らかにしました。原虫が有するマクロファージの改変機構を理解する上で重要なステップになることが期待できます。
