‘Upregulation of ATP6V0D2 benefits intracellular survival of Leishmania donovani in erythrocytes-engulfing macrophages’

内臓型リーシュマニア症を引き起こすLeishmania donovaniの感染マウス脾臓ではマクロファージの多核化がみられます。これまでに私たちは、V-ATPaseの構成成分として知られるATP6V0D2の発現上昇がこの多核化に関与することを明らかにしました。本研究では、マクロファージ内での原虫生存に対するATP6V0D2の役割を調べたところ、①ATP6V0D2の発現上昇は感染マクロファージによる赤血球貪食に寄与する、②感染マクロファージによる赤血球貪食が細胞内原虫にもたらす利益もATP6V0D2依存的に制御される、③ATP6V0D2は赤血球貪食により増加する細胞内鉄の調節にも関与することが明らかとなりました。
